Every Christmas night my brother and I take turns reading the book “Rock Crystal”, written by Adalbart Stifter in 1845. It is a wonderful, poetic story about a young brother and sister lost on Christmas Eve as they go to visit their grandparents in a remote Austrian village. This candle is named after that book and the feelings it evokes through its painterly and descriptive prose about all manner of scents, tastes and sounds associated with their winter journey.
This 11 oz candle smells of Spruce, Canadian fir and a hint of lemon, rose and sandalwood. It is a bright, complex and fresh fragrance. Its blue mercury glass vessel is 3.5” in diameter and height and sparkles like the ice described in our beloved book.
